The World History Association would like to congratulate Barry McCarron, the winner of the third annual WHA Dissertation Prize.  Dr. McCarron’s dissertation, completed at Georgetown University, is entitled, “The Global Irish and Chinese: Migration, Exclusion, and Foreign Relations Among Empires, 1784-1904.”

The WHA would also like to congratulate two honorable mentions: Kathryn Hain for “The Slave trade of European Women to the Middle East and Asia from Antiquity to the Ninth Century”, completed at the University of Utah, and Isaiah Wilner for “Raven Cried for Me: Narratives of Transformation on the Northwest Coast of America”, completed at Yale University.
