Teaching World History in Higher Education

The WHA is not only interested in professional scholarship in the field of world history. We also emphasize the importance of teaching world history effectively. Understanding cross-cultural interaction and development throughout history is an essential part of a well-rounded college education. In an ever increasingly connected world, the WHA believes that the field of world history will only become more common in higher education. Therefore, we make every effort to address issues within the classroom as well as within research.

To assist professionals teaching world history, we have included information about standards and materials, links to syllabi, and links to organizations and other informative, helpful websites. We hope that these resources are useful for the in-class experience. If you are not already a member, please consider joining the WHA to receive further information about teaching world history and be part of our annual conference.
