The Department of History at Idaho State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Latin American History at the rank of Assistant Professor. The period of specialization is open. The ability to teach courses in world or European History is desirable, especially at the general education level.
Idaho State University is a research university with over 12,000 students enrolled in programs ranging from undergraduate to doctoral. We are located in the Rocky Mountains, close to Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks.
We seek candidates who demonstrate a growing record of scholarship, commitment to effective teaching, and potential for successful grant funding. This assistant professor will contribute to the existing undergraduate and graduate curricula and develop courses in their areas of specialization. Teaching duties in a 3/3 load include in-class, broadcast, and online formats. The History Department delivers degree programs in Idaho Falls, Pocatello, and online. The successful candidate will also fill service roles in the department, college, and university.
A Ph.D. in history or related field is required at appointment in August 2020. Research and teaching expertise in Latin America.
Ability to teach classes in World History or European History.
