Summer Session Professor
Location: Beijing, China
Position Type: Contract / Stipend
Duration: 5-weeks (7-2-2018 through 8-3-2018)

MEI is hiring professors to teach at its Beijing campus this summer, established in partnership with a
Massachusetts state university to offer US college courses and US College credit to international
students who study in the United States and return home to China in the summer. Courses are taught in
English, just like they would be at universities here in the states. The students taking the courses are
international students who study in the US and return home to China in the summer so their English is
Summer Session in Beijing will take place from July 2, 2018 through August 3, 2019. Professors must be
in Beijing during this time to teach and it is suggested faculty arrive 1 – 2 days early.

Primary Responsibilities:
● Teach two courses
● Create an engaging classroom environment for students
● Host office hours and opportunity for the students to receive clarification and additional help
● Master’s Degree in subject area required; PhD preferred
● PhD students are also encouraged to apply
● Experience teaching undergraduate students
● A passport valid through at least February 2019 (entry requirement for the People’s Republic of
Preferred Skills / Attributes
● International teaching experience and/or experience working with undergraduate students

This position offers a very competitive stipend. In addition, international flights, airport pickup and dropoff,
housing, and daily breakfast are covered.
Professors are responsible for passport, visa and other fees not mentioned above.
