The Department of History at Washington State University seeks to hire a two-year-long teaching postdoc to teach the university’s core undergraduate course, Roots of Contemporary Issues, beginning August 2018. Areas of specialty are open, but successful candidates must have a Ph.D. at time of appointment; graduate training that demonstrates their ability to understand historical problems in transnational, comparative, or global perspective; demonstrated ability to engage students in discussions on issues relating to the history of the environment, globalization, social inequalities, diverse ways of thinking, and world conflicts. Teaching experience preferred. Roots of Contemporary Issues postdocs are hired to teach a 4/4 load with one preparation.
