The World History Association has existed since 1982.   It was founded by a group of educators deeply committed to understanding the interconnected history of the world from multiple perspectives and advancing that understanding as an advanced field of study.  They sought to create an organization that brought together educators at all levels--from K-12 to doctoral studies--and to engage in the fruitful exchange of ideas, teaching strategies, approaches, and global understanding.
