OER-sponsored conference registration waivers
Thanks to generous fun funding from the OER Project, we can offer the first 40 eligible K-12 teachers who apply free registration for the conference. This is a rolling deadline, but know that we’ve already awarded several of the 40 waivers available. If you are an eligible K-12 teacher planning to attend the conference, please apply. Please be aware that you are required to complete your conference registration by February 15, 2027 in order to receive this award.
Conference fee waivers due to financial hardship
The World History Association recognizes economic hardship for some in our community by offering a limited number of partial or full registration waivers each year for those in economic need. Eligibility includes demonstrated financial need and acceptance by the Conference Program Committee of an individual paper, whether or not part of an organized panel.
To qualify, applicants also must be current members of the WHA and have not received waivers in the past. All possible attempts at securing other funding should be made prior to applying for the waiver.

Please note that the fee waiver, if granted, does not apply to other costs associated with the conference, including additional meals, transportation, and accommodation.

Applications are due by March 1 of the conference year.
